If you know about project management, you know that with the complexity of a project, the risk increases. Infrastructure projects especially are highly complex construction projects. A range of contracting partners must perform cross-sectoral services, like tunnelling, roadworks and specialised civil engineering, bridge construction or traffic technology. In order to successfully conclude a project, all involved, from the authorities to the population, from the planner to the sub-contractor, must co-ordinate their efforts. Only then planning, logistics and management can be tuned to one another in turn minimizing the risk of a project.
Thanks to many years of diverse professional experience, technical competence and the integral approach, ARNDT IDC was able to control aspects of such complex infrastructure projects successfully.

Practical example: Design approval management
With major infrastructure projects, the first major obstacle is the planning approval. In any country there is a special administrative procedure required by law in case of large infrastructure projects with a significant impact on public space. In Germany this process is called “Planfeststellungsverfahren”).
Within this planning approval procedure the interests of many different stakeholders collide, so that, especially for projects of strong public interest, there may be an entire range of objections.
ARNDT IDC has gathered experience with one of the most complex infrastructure projects of the last years. The Fehmarnbelt is a planned tunnel underneath the sea between Denmark and Germany. Due to its location, there were more than 20.000 objections concerning a series of aspects during the planning approval procedure. ARNDT IDC managed and concluded this project successfully.
